Advisory Board Overview — Confidential

A development platform for professional screen storytelling.

Storybrain encodes two decades of Hollywood screenwriting methodology into a suite of tools that dramatically reduce the time from idea to draft — without replacing the writer.

May 2026

The Methodology

Built on 20+ years of actual screenwriting — our process, our samples, our thinking.

Storybrain is not a general-purpose LLM dressed up for Hollywood. It is built on our own human-generated materials — scripts, pitch docs, treatments, and writing samples we produced over two decades of working for every major studio and network. The platform is trained on our creative DNA: how we break down structure, how we identify the emotional core of a story, how we build character, how we pressure-test a premise, how we think about theme.

Every question the platform asks, every structural checkpoint it maps, every character dimension it probes — these come directly from the collaborative development process we refined across dozens of studio and independent projects.

"The goal is to put our story brain into a usable interface — something that helps producers, dev executives, and rights-holders get to better creative materials faster."
— Jonathon E. Stewart

Human writers remain at the center of this. That matters creatively, ethically, and practically — and it is what allows Storybrain to function within the construct of the WGA MBA and guild realities.

Developed Q1–Q2 2025. Built Q3–Q4 2025. Beta tested through Q1–Q2 2026. This platform is live and in use today.

What It Does

Four tools. Used independently or in series — from idea to rough draft in days, not weeks or months.

Story Builder

Build a pitch from scratch. Type or speak into the interface. A structured creative interview walks through 9 phases of story development, then generates a producer doc, one-pager, or full pitch doc. For the exec or writer who has a germ of an idea and wants to pressure-test it fast — or get a document together to share internally or externally.

Story Adapter

Adapt existing IP — or interview data from Story Builder. Digest source material, identify what works on screen, and produce a developed treatment. For companies sitting on IP libraries: test ideas in a fraction of the time it takes to vet internally or commission writer outreach.

Story Analyst

A-plus coverage that you can interact with. Read a screenplay, get coverage, then ask follow-up questions — clarify weaknesses, explore fixes, compare drafts to see how well notes have been addressed. Drag-and-drop. Minutes, not days.

Story Writer

The most powerful — and most ethically complicated — tool in the suite. Generates a full rough draft in hours — or goes sequence by sequence, with the human writer editing between passes. The question isn't just "can the tech do this?" It's where this sits ethically, creatively, legally, and within guild realities. Our position: human writers at the center. Always.

DEVELOPMENT IS BROKEN, STORYBRAIN FIXES IT

Dramatically reduce the time from instinct to actionable creative materials.

1
IP libraries sitting idle. Every major studio and rights-holder has a catalog they are not meaningfully exploring. Storybrain lets them test material and surface opportunities — a producer doc, a treatment, or coverage — at a fraction of the time and cost of traditional writer outreach.
2
Speed to clarity. An exec with an idea can have a structured creative interview, pressure-test the premise, and walk away with a polished producer doc or one-pager in under an hour. What currently takes weeks of meetings and email can happen in a single session.
3
Methodology that has already worked. The platform's creative frameworks — its structural principles, its character depth, its approach to theme and tension — are the same ones that have produced over a billion dollars in box office. The output isn't generic. It reads like the work of an experienced development team.
4
WGA-compatible by design. Human writers at the center isn't a talking point — it's the architecture. The platform augments the development pipeline without replacing the talent that drives it. It is built to operate within guild realities, not in spite of them.

For studios, streamers, production companies, and IP holders, the commercial value is speed, clarity, and volume — without losing the guidance of experienced human story judgment.

Who Built This

Jonathon E. Stewart
Co-Founder & Platform Architect
Mentored and taught story structure and development methodology for over a decade — thousands of hours of practical craft instruction now encoded into the Storybrain platform. Post-graduate studies in generative AI at MIT and UC Berkeley. 2024 TEDxUCSB speaker on the intersection of AI and creativity. Consultant role as Head of Engagement at AI-forward nationally spotlit Alpha School.
Eyal Podell & Jonathon E. Stewart
Co-Founders & Writers
Collectively over $1 billion at the box office across studio features, independent film, animation, and television. Two working screenwriters with 20+ years each in the trenches — deep experience in development, adaptation, and the practical realities of getting a screenplay from idea to greenlight. The Storybrain interview process is built on the collaborative development method they have refined together over two decades. They have written, sold, and produced for every major studio and network. Their shared understanding of what makes a story work — and what makes a development process fail — is the foundation the entire platform rests on.
